Francois (Philippe Marlaud) is in love with Anne (Marie Riviere), a slightly older woman. When handsome pilot Christian (Mathieu Carrire) drops in to visit Anne, Francois becomes jealous despite Anne's insistence that the two are only friends. A paranoid Francois enlists help from a plucky teenage girl to spy on the flyboy in French filmmaker Eric Rohmer's comic misadventure, the first in his "Comedies and Proverbs" series.
