In 1997, 18-year-old goatherd Esequiel Hernández Jr. was killed by a squadron of U.S. Marines, an innocent victim in the war on drugs. The tension between the United States and Mexico is illuminated by shattering interviews with Hernández's family and friends, the Marines involved and local officials. Tommy Lee Jones narrates Kieran Fitzgerald's searing documentary that examines the perils of border enforcement by the military.
