The Ballad of Lucy Whipple

  (2001)
For New England teenager California Morning Whipple (Jena Malone), the only thing worse than her name is the idea of moving across the country to live in her namesake state. So when her widowed mother (Glenn Close) announces plans to uproot the family and try her luck as a gold prospector out west, the unhappy girl promptly renames herself Lucy.
