The Battle of the Sexes

D.W. Griffith delivers another morality tale in this late silent classic, but the tone is more modern and sophisticated than in his typical fare. Businessman J.C. Judson (Jean Hersholt) leads a comfortable (if unexciting) life with his wife (Belle Bennett) and grown children (Sally O'Neil and William Bakewell). Things get considerably more complicated, however, when Judson's family catches him out with gold-digger Marie Skinner (Phyllis Haver).
