Jay Ward's classic cartoon series "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show" featured "Dudley Do-Right," which parodied silent-film melodramas via the adventures of a clueless Canadian Mountie. Dudley rescues damsels in distress (including his own love interest, Nell) from archvillain Snidely Whiplash. The program features the vintage Dudley Do-Right cartoons "Mother Whiplash's Log Jam," "Niagara Falls" and "Marigolds."
