Slacker Jack Ryan (Owen Wilson) never expected the job he took caring for a retired judge (Morgan Freeman) to get complicated. But that it does when he becomes involved with a woman (Sara Foster) who's also sleeping with a corrupt land developer (Gary Sinise). The magnate has plans to build a new property in Hawaii without following all the rules and happens to be an enemy of the judge. Before long, Jack's loyalties are tested to the hilt.
