The Big Knife

Jack Palance stars as Charles Castle, a famous actor who's trying to leave show business so he can reconcile with his estranged wife -- so he refuses to sign a studio contract that would tie him up for the next 14 years. Rod Steiger plays the studio honcho who will beg, coerce and blackmail Castle into making a deal. Ida Lupino and Shelley Winters co-star in this cynical take on the old Hollywood studio system.
