After the death of her husband, well-off widow Victoria Barkley (Barbara Stanwyck) is left on her own to lead her brood of adult children (including Lee Majors and Linda Evans) in California's San Joaquin Valley, where the Barkleys control just about everything. In the first season of this 1960s Western series, an earthquake traps Victoria with a family foe; Heath (Majors) is accused of murder; and Nick (Peter Breck) is bitten by a rabid wolf.
