In this postapocalyptic saga that takes a page from Mad Max and Rollerblade, Rutger Hauer plays a former star of "jugging" -- a futuristic type of rugby -- who's preparing a crew of bush-leaguers for a championship match against his ex-team. This fight for victory is also a quest for revenge. Among the competitors are Vincent D'Onofrio, Delroy Lindo and Joan Chen as Hauer's single-minded female apprentice.
