When a beautiful Hong Kong woman named Michelle (Christy Chung) witnesses a mob-style murder, her boyfriend hires a Chinese martial-arts expert (Jet Li) to shield her from harm. The bodyguard outfits Michelle's home with nearly every surveillance gadget imaginable, disrupting her independence. But after a near-death experience at the mall, Michelle comes to realize that her guardian has her best interests at heart -- and that she may love him.
