The Bofors Gun
(1968)|
A namby-pamby British corporal (David Warner) has deep-seated ambitions to improve his rank in the army by taking the officer's entrance exam. Unfortunately, a deranged Irish private (Nicol Williamson) develops an intense dislike for the corporal and, seeking to humiliate him, commits suicide under his watch. Ian Holm won a Best Supporting Actor British Academy Award in this sure-handed film adaptation of John McGrath's teleplay.
