Chinese television star Adam Cheng reprises a role that made him famous in the 1970s -- that of real-life military leader Emperor Qianlong -- in this action-driven remake of the popular period drama based on Louis Cha's wuxia novel. On one front, the emperor is fighting the Red Flower Society rebels bent on destroying his empire. On another, he's fighting the rebels' magnetic young leader (Zhenyu Qiao) for the affections of a tribal princess.
