Mediterranean ferryboat captain Henry St. James (Alec Guinness) has things well organized for himself: He's got a loving, "veddy" English wife (Celia Johnson) in Gibraltar and a possessive, hot-blooded mistress (Yvonne De Carlo) in Tangiers. A perfect arrangement, as long as he can keep them apart. But what happens when one woman decides to follow him to the other port? This romantic comedy from Britain was nominated for a Best Writing Oscar.
