Judi Dench stars in these two productions of Anton Chekhov's play about a spoiled, aging aristocratic lady who loses her cherry orchard estate to foreclosure. A young Dench is cast alongside John Gielgud, Peggy Ashcroft, Ian Holm and Dorothy Tutin in the 1962 Royal Shakespeare Company presentation, and in director Richard Eyre's 1981 production, Dench leads the cast as Madame Ranevskaya with her BAFTA award-winning performance.
