Having just escaped from jail, Simon Duroc (Jean-Louis Trintignant) has little time to get to the cash he stole before he was caught and hightail it to freedom and anonymity. But when he runs into his ex-wife, he can't leave well enough alone and rekindles his affair with her. That misstep just may lead to his undoing, but Simon thinks he's taken care of all the details. He'll soon discover, however, that the cops are smarter than he believes.
