A killer dubbed "The Mangler" is roaming the streets of Los Angeles, and no one can detect a pattern to his carnage. Despite the efforts of a television news reporter (Cathy Lee Crosby), the father of one of the victims (William Devane) and a dogged detective (Richard Jaeckel), the only person with any leads is a mysterious psychic woman (Jacquelyn Hyde), and she knows one thing for certain: This killer is anything but human.
