The Deluge

This series directed by Jerzy Hoffman picks up where the first, With Fire and Sword, left off. Inspired by Nobel prize winner Henryk Sienkiewicz's book, The Deluge finds Poland at a nexus; change is in the offing as the Swedish army marches into the country. Amid the chaos stands a nobleman, Andrzej Kmicic (Daniel Olbrychski), who's weathering the trauma of war even as he wrestles with his love for a woman named Olenka (Malgorzata Braunek).
