The Divided Heart

During World War II, a German woman named Inga (Cornell Borchers, who won a Best Foreign Actress BAFTA Award) goes missing and is presumed dead. Her infant son is placed in an orphanage where, years later, he's adopted by childless couple Sonja (Yvonne Mitchell, winner of the Best British Actress BAFTA Award) and Franz (Armin Dahmen). But the adoptive parents' happiness is shattered when Inga reappears and insists on custody of her son.
