With revolt and bankruptcy threatening the tiny nation of Abacco, Grand Duke Don Ramon XX (Harry Liedtke) must keep his country's creditors at bay while seducing rich Russian princess Olga (Mady Christians) and foiling the plans of a crazy trio of conspirators. The silent farcical thriller marks a lighter change of pace for director F.W. Murnau, the brilliant German master behind Sunrise, The Last Laugh and Nosferatu the Vampire.
