The Four Chaplains

  (2004)
In 1943, the crew aboard the U.S.A.T. Dorchester witnessed four army chaplains giving their life vests to soldiers and then praying together as the ship sank from a direct torpedo hit. This documentary retells the events through archival footage, re-creations and interviews with survivors and family members. The chaplains -- a Catholic priest, a Jewish rabbi and two Protestant ministers -- saved lives and courageously went down with the ship.
