In the late 1970s, leftist leaders Sergio Segio (Riccardo Scamarcio) and Susanna Ronconi (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) fall in love against the backdrop of their terrorist group's own violence. This fictionalized biopic tells their story through Segio's prison-cell reflections. Director Renato De Maria follows him from idealistic young man determined to save his country to starry-eyed romantic who returns to violence to save the woman he loves.
