The Front Page / The Sin of Harold Diddlebock

  (1931)
Billionaire tycoon Howard Hughes bankrolled these two zany screwball comedies from 1931 and 1947. In The Front Page, editor Walter Burns (Adolphe Menjou) is determined to prevent his star reporter Hildy Johnson (Pat O'Brien) from leaving his job and getting hitched. In Preston Sturges's The Sin of Harold Diddlebock -- a sequel of sorts to the 1925 classic The Freshman -- Harold (Harold Lloyd) is a shy ex-footballer who goes on a wild bender.
