The Gift of Love

First broadcast on television in 1978, this touching adaptation of O. Henry's famous short story "The Gift of the Magi" stars Marie Osmond as Beth Atherton, an heiress who turns her back on her fortune to marry poor immigrant Rudi Miller (Timothy Bottoms). Beth and Rudi find their happiness compromised, however, when neither can afford to buy the other an expensive Christmas gift, and both become desperate to demonstrate their love.
