Hapless American scoutmaster Freddie Hunter (Bob Hope) leads his troop on a European excursion. On the transatlantic voyage, he crosses paths with cardsharp -- and murderer -- C.J. Dabney (Roland Young), who's looking for a patsy to pin his crimes on. Meanwhile, Freddie flirts with an alluring duchess (Rhonda Fleming). In his trademark role as a wisecracker with designs on an unattainable beauty, Hope nails his punch lines with precision timing.
