The Hip Hop Project
(2006)|
Born into poverty, abandoned by his mother and living on the New York City streets by the time he was a teen, Chris "Kazi" Rolle used his skills as a rapper to pull himself out of the gutter. Determined to help other inner-city kids do the same, Rolle initiated an outreach program called the Hip Hop Project. This uplifting documentary charts the participants' progress as they find a voice for their struggles and eventually record an album.
