Self-contained Major Cleve Saville (Robert Mitchum) and immensely cocky Lt. Ed Pell (Robert Wagner) are two pilots with styles as different as night and day. As the Korean War rages just beyond the horizon, romance beckons, giving the soldiers more than they can handle. Suddenly, downing enemy planes seems easy!
