Hardened gumshoe Johnny Strange (Warren Douglas) never thought he'd find himself in this sticky predicament: His secretary (Adele Mara) has fingered him for the murder of an acerbic broadcaster, and he has no idea why she would make up such a heinous lie. Strange must now rely on police investigators (led by William Frawley) to find out her motive for lying, which soon comes tumbling out when they stage a radio play to get her talking.
