When Boston transplant Sam Lowell (Bill Bixby) arrives on the Wyoming frontier in the late 1800s, he joins forces with cowboy George Dunning (Bo Hopkins) and other homesteaders to fight the established cattle barons' attempts to drive new settlers off and seize their land. M. Emmet Walsh and John Hillerman co-star in this Western adventure, which is based on a real-life conflict, Wyoming's Johnson County War of 1892.
