When their mother is murdered in their Icelandic town after she's vilified for being a witch, sisters Margit (played by iconic singer Björk) and Katla (Bryndis Petra Bragadóttir) try to start anew in a different city with the help of a farmer, Johann (Valdimar Örn Flygenring), on whom Katla has cast a love spell. But Johann's son (Geirlaug Sunna Pormar) wants nothing to do with magic, and surprisingly, Margit is willing to help him foil Katla.
