The Last American Hero

Jeff Bridges plays racing champ Junior Jackson in this fast-paced drama based on a true story. Country boy Jackson hones his driving skills running interference for moonshiners and eluding the police, but when his father (Art Lund) is jailed for bootlegging, Jackson cleans up his act by competing on the professional stock-car circuit. After ascending to the top of the sport, however, the maverick driver finds himself dogged by corporate pressure.
