Cantankerous matriarch Emma Blank (Marlies Heuer) is driving her household crazy with her imperious demands. Hoping to inherit her alleged fortune, her husband and daughter grudgingly act as her servants while waiting -- in vain -- for her to die. They rebel by taking lovers and acting as outrageously as Emma, but no one does loony quite like Emma in this sly black comedy from noted Dutch director Alex van Warmerdam.
