Marion Cotillard stars as strong-willed aviator Marie Vallières in this epic romance set in 1930s Africa. After her lover's plane crashes in the French Sahara, Marie journeys to the exotic and terrifying land to find him. There, she becomes embroiled in a battle being waged between the legion outpost and local insurgents, and also finds herself falling in love with the French troops' heroic but troubled captain (Guillaume Canet).
