The Last Train
(1974)|
While the German army enters France at the onset of World War II, Frenchman Julien Maroyeur (Jean-Louis Trintignant) is separated from his wife as he flees to the south on a freight car. There, he meets Anna Kupfer (Romy Schneider), a Jewish woman he allows to pose as his wife. Adapted from the novel by the prodigious French writer Georges Simenon, this overlooked war drama features a haunting score by Philippe Sarde.
