Can a hoodlum turn over a new leaf? That's all Jacob Wade (Jack Palance) wants, but it's hard to shake his fearsome reputation. That's especially true when nearly everyone -- villagers, lawmen, even his own son (Anthony Perkins) -- seems to have it in for him. Life is lonely, indeed, for Jacob Wade … and it's also very dangerous.
