More than 15 years after winning an Oscar for her portrayal of Helen Keller in Arthur Penn's classic drama, Patty Duke tackles the mature role of Annie Sullivan in director Paul Aaron's Emmy-winning remake, which co-stars Melissa Gilbert as Helen. As Helen's dedicated tutor, Annie struggles to open up a new world for the deaf, blind and very willful girl by teaching her how to communicate through sign language.
