The New Statesman

  (1987)
Aptly named unscrupulous politician Alan B'Stard (Rik Mayall) goes to extremes to gain power and money in this late 1980s BBC comedy series. B'Stard cheats on his wife (Marsha Fitzalan), annihilates his rivals (literally) and harasses his staff as he claws his way to the top. This set includes the entire 26-episode series and the feature-length "Who Shot Alan B'Stard" -- Britain's version of the popular "Dallas" cliff-hanger "Who Shot J.R.?"
