Charles Dickens's classic tale comes to life in this BBC miniseries starring Sebastian Shaw as an elderly curio shop owner with a dangerous appetite for gambling. When diabolical moneylender Daniel Quilp (Trevor Peacock) comes calling, seeking to collect his debts, it's up to the merchant's resourceful teenage granddaughter, Nell (Natalie Ogle), to find an escape from what promises to be a miserable future.
