Renowned Egyptian director Chahine hit a career high point with this stunning denunciation of globalization and terrorism. A favored son gets caught in the manipulative web of his conniving mother as she schemes to bilk the government out of a large amount of money. Although the son turns against his parents, he pays a heavy price that may be too much to bear.
