The Outrage

When outlaw Juan Carrasco (Paul Newman) stands trial for the rape of a settler woman (Claire Bloom) and the murder of her husband (Laurence Harvey), three conflicting accounts of the crime emerge. A conversation between a con man (Edward G. Robinson), a preacher (William Shatner) and a prospector (Howard Da Silva) further muddies the truth. Martin Ritt directs this dramatic Western based on Akira Kurosawa's film Rashomon.
