Four Texas Rangers (Pat O'Brien, Walter Brennan, Chill Wills and Edgar Buchanan) come out of retirement to help clean-cut Jeff Rose (Rick Nelson) win the mayoral race against crooked incumbent Nard Lundy (Edward Andrews) in this made-for-television oater. But the grizzled quartet soon realizes they'll have to use their wits instead of six-shooters to outflank the bad guys -- including the town's judge (Andy Devine) and sheriff (Jack Elam).
