Lon Chaney -- the legendary character actor known as Hollywood's "Man of a Thousand Faces" -- stars in this black-and-white silent classic about a vengeful man whose legs were mistakenly amputated during childhood. In an effort to get back at the bumbling doctor who ruined his life, the wounded boy turned gangster crafts a detailed plan for revenge that includes a subterranean dungeon and an open operating table.
