This made-for-television movie features country-western singer Johnny Cash at his stoic best. Jesse Hallam (Cash), a coal miner since the age of 14, has recently been widowed and is facing many changes in his life. A proud man, Jesse is forced to confront his illiteracy when he and his family move from their Kentucky farm to the big city in Ohio. Brenda Vaccaro co-stars.
