The Proud Ones

With the arrival of a rowdy Texas trail herd, a tiny Kansas town is split: While local marshal Cass Silver (Robert Ryan) is convinced that the herd drivers will bring nothing but trouble, "Honest" John Barrett (Robert Middleton), the proprietor of a local saloon, knows they're bound to be thirsty -- and a boon for business. Problems arise when Honest John plots to overthrow Cass, who gets little to no help from his bitter deputy (Jeffrey Hunter).
