This silent classic from 1915 explores both the life of Edgar Allan Poe (Henry B. Walthall) and his most celebrated poem, "The Raven." Scenes of Poe's life and death intertwine with depictions of his famous verse narrative. After being adopted as a boy, Poe grew up to marry Virginia Clemm (Warda Howard), whose early death sent the grieving poet into an irreversible downward spiral.
