Dr. Dave Hurst (Campbell Scott) shares two homes, three children and a dental practice with his wife, Dana (Hope Davis). One evening, backstage at Dana's theater production, the emotionally repressed Dave thinks he sees his wife cheating on him with another man. His jealousy flares up -- in the form of a dyspeptic alter ego personified by an unsatisfied patient, Slater (Denis Leary). Indie veteran Alan Rudolph (Afterglow) directs.
