The Soldier's Tale

Part of PBS's "Great Performances" series, this installment features the animated version of Igor Stravinsky's tale. The classic story that pits good versus evil follows a soldier who unintentionally offers up his soul to the devil. Voice actors include Max von Sydow, Dusan Makavejev and Andre Gregory; the score features the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra conducted by Gerard Schwarz. The film earned director R.O. Blechman an Emmy Award.
