In this two-part miniseries set amid the events of the original, Richard Chamberlain reprises his role as ambitious priest Ralph de Bricassart, who loves God and beautiful Meggie Cleary O'Neill (Amanda Donohoe) equally. With World War II raging, the Vatican returns Father Ralph to the Australian sheep ranch he assumed he'd put behind him, along with his feelings for Meggie. But a fateful reunion soon leads to rekindled passion.
