Top-level Prohibition-era organized crime bosses meet their match in agent Eliot Ness (Robert Stack) in this controversial Emmy-winning series that dramatizes Chicago's violent underworld, circa 1930. As Ness and his intrepid investigators turn up the heat on bootleggers, bookies, dope pushers and other underworld criminals, they must also contend with corrupt union leaders, dirty judges and other supposed good guys.
