The Widowing of Mrs. Holroyd

Rex Robbins stars as Holroyd, an alcoholic, brutish miner in pre-World War I England who lords his power over his family -- especially his wife (Joyce Ebert), who in turn plans to run away to Spain with her would-be lover (Frank Converse). But when Holroyd dies in a mining accident, the family is awash with guilt over their hatred of the dead man. Geraldine Fitzgerald co-stars in this Broadway Theatre Archive production of D.H. Lawrence's play.
