After their father suddenly dies, teen brothers Ernö (Szabolcs Gergely) and János (Alpár Fogarasi) develop a morbid fascination with death and begin conducting bizarre experiments on their pets. Life grows yet stranger when János becomes obsessed with a local prostitute. Maia Morgenstern co-stars as the boys' neglectful mother in this arresting, atmospheric drama set in a small Hungarian town in 1914.
